we all have somebody we are crazy about that almost everybody can't stand.. if you mention their name your companions give you that "look" (ya know the one, like you just got caught picking your nose!).

i was thinking about this the other day.

i was truly curious if i'm mental or if everybody has a guilty pleasure list like i do.. i'm just going to assume we all do until you set me straight.. if you attach a photo and short explanation about why you like these pariahs it will be more meaningful.. .

Guilty and a little embarassing... I like reading The Daily Mail. God please dont tell . I am a PBS member, they might kick me out.

I mostly look at the photos. I like to see what poeple are wearing, and some of the articals go a little further than a US version. Some of the Health tips are crazy, but some are good. But they are getting a little to Kardashian and I cant handle them.

THis coming from a person, that while checking out at the grocery store, wont even dare glance at a rag mag.

OH well, maybe it's like porn. its different if your not buying it, and no one is watching.

i have just heard that s friend from an entirely different meaasge board died this evening after a brief spell in a hospice.. she was very proud of being welsh and of the language.

she was firm in her traditional welsh chapel faith and i'm sure it helped her at the end.. cysga'n dawel, cariad.

I'm very sorry for your lose of a very close friend.

Something I read a while ago when my brother died,, it's a Buhdist saying.

"A man stays alive as long as he is remembered."

I make a point to remember all the funny , silly things about him.

It helps. For me it keeps him 'alive'

I like to collect Oaxca MX animal carvings. Old mixing bowls and vases from early CA.

Copper vases from the arts and crafts movement. Stamps. Books.

Old Pawn Indian Jewelry.

Old beads....lots of beads from crappy jewelry that people toss out..

Lenticular

i've spent the afternoon at the computer, working and watching the lenticular clouds on the mountain outside my window.

there have been several, they form and then drift southward.

the one that's out there now is a bright pink-orange because of the sunset.

It does sound beautiful and relaxing.

I have tried to paint these beautiful clouds in water colour. But it seemed like an exsaggeration of colour.

You have to be there.

reeder oak ridge eric hampton reeder september 27, 2012 eric hampton reeder sadly passed away at his home in oak ridge on september 27, at 51 years.

he's survived by two sons, tyler and travis, and many dear friends.

he will always be seen in the mountains, seas, suns, and storms he loved.

do you remember the five and dime stores?.

whenever grandpa saw us kids, he gave us two bits (25 cents) each and, when feeling generous, four bits (50 cents).. back in the 50s, the late summer air was charged with excitement as we poor but studious urchins pored over what school supplies we would purchase with our then valuable coins.

whether school supplies or toys or what nots were on the must-get list scribbled out in our heads, we could spend quite some time determining how to allocate our dough.. how about you?

When I was a single digit numbered kiddo, visiting my best lfreind, her father would give us all a dime to walk to the new safeway on Pollard Rd. L.G. She had a flock of brothers and sisiters from white to mocha. I just had freckles. But Pippy didnt mind them , so I would worry either.

We always got a shasta soda automaticy , but with the change, that was a hard one. We usualy did the gumball machines.

But there is nothing like a big new red eraser. I want a magical one. You know, erase some bad memories , erase the negative people out too.

Loved eating at the Woolworths counter too in downtown SC.. Always a grilled chees and timber float (water and toothpick) smile

My Baptism Story

i have been thinking about how the events surrounding my baptism may be of some interest to this board, so here is my story.. i began to talk about baptism when i was seven, but nobody took me seriously.

i let the matter drop until i was ten.

i was persistent this time so arrangements were made for the elders to go over the questions with me.. at the time, it was customary for baptismal candidates to study the live forever and united in worship books.

Interesting Story DT...

I was a preteen in 75 and out in service with the single pioneer sisters. They told me that since I was not baptized I was going to die in armegedon . I said , but I thought my parents would protect me, they said nope, youre old enough.

Scared me to death. Beacause I really belived that in the US we would all go to Nazi styled concentration camps. Like that '74 yearbook rambled on about. WE would be tourtured , etc.

So I asked to be baptized at the next circut assembly. At that time, we had a large group , maybe 15 , and we did the questions together with one elder.

During my baptisim talk , I heard the speaker talk about this being the outword part of our dedication. Being that we had already prayed to Jehovah about our dedication before. I hadnt ! But went along to the pool and got dunked.

An elders wife told me I wasnt really baptized and should redo it. But I think she was looking for an easy study. I've often wondered at the validilaty of the dedication. If there is a way to say I never was baptized. I've never pioneered, and my cards "somehow" disapeared when I moved. Ive never asked a real elder about it though.

I'd love to be able to say I was never baptized. ....But I did get wet...LOL
